12/8 and 12/9 Went Bottom Fishing and sword fishing
Left the marina at 11am. Dropped for some bottom fishing in a 130ft, caught a couple red snapper, vermillions, some good black seabass and some porgy's.
Left and headed further out past 226- setup the first drift in roughly 1,500. Lines in right at dark. Ended up going 3 for 5.
2 pups and 1 keeper- 54in fish.. oh yeah caught two sharks- fought one for an hour and 40 mins.
Had lines in at daylight and trolled a couple of hours- Had one shot at a blue right off the bat- She came in hot- worked over both long riggers before coming tight.. Ended up pulling the hook. So be it. That's fishing. Had fun.
1/5 and 1/6 Bottom fished and tried the swords.
Bottom fishing was good- vermillion snapper, a couple grouper, and black sea bass. Sword fishing was tough. The wind picked up, drift was really fast- did have some action- caught two large hammerhead sharks. Some of the baits looked to be wacked, but could not put a hook in one.... Ready to try it again.
5/2/08 Had lines in the water around 8:30 am - Ran into a few schools of Big Dolphin- Everytime we got a bite, 2 or three more bites would come before we could get the first fish in the boat. Ended up catching around 14 Dolphin. All good size fish- 20 to 30 pounders. Had a two blue marlin hook ups. Both were not meant to be.. Line broke on one and the leader on the other. 40 miniutes after we lost our fist marlin, she came up to brag---about 50 to 100yds out tail walkin with our lure still trailing behind her...
5/3/08 The bite was slower than yesterday. Ended up catching 3 dolphin- but did catch a Marlin... Which did help make the day..
5/10/08 The bite was on today. Steady picked away at gaffer dolphin, amberjack and cudas.. Ended up with around 17 dolphin - 4 amberjack and 1 nice blackfin tuna- not too mention alot of barracudas... Had a great day..
5/17/08 We ran out 130 degrees to 180' and put lines in. Today was the day of missed chances. We lossed a couple of nice wahoo on the ledge. Did catch a few dolphin and aj's there. We trolled on out and got on a beautiful edge and caught a few more dolphin. We ended up with 13 gaffers, 7 aj's and a cuda.
5/24/08 We had a group of early risers.... Left Marina 4:15AM- Lines in at around 7:45AM Fished from 180ft to 1300ft. Had bites here and there- caught 3 different triple headers on dolphin and our group got all 9 in the boat. Ended up going 13 for 16 bites(all dolphin). Anglers caught all the fish that were hooked. Not a single strike on the planer rod all day. All strikes came on the lines close to the boat. Only one hit all day, on the wwb line. More fish inshore than deep. Picked up ran a little inshore -found a nice rip/weed line and caught our last triple header which included a solid 40# dolphin. Picked up and came home- The weather was perfect going out and fishing - BUT the weather report finally came through on the way home- seas got pretty sporty- made for fun ride in..

5/31/08 Had a great day. Fished the 340 line and hooked up big- Caught Two Blue Marlin. The dolphin bite was a bit slow, still ended the day with 5 nice gaffers. Last strike of the day was as we were going through a school of Skip Jacks and our flat line went off. Good fish fought straight down. Ended up losing the fish-Leader wore through!!! Had to be a nice Yellow Fin Tuna. Great day on the ocean! On Top of that Two of the anglers took a dip at the marina for their first Blue Marlin releases- living to be caught another day!
6/7/08 and 6/8/08 We had two good groups. Saturday-we caught 2 Dolphin and a Sailfish and Sunday-we caught 3 dolphin, a King mackeral, some Cudas and a couple nice Amberjacks. Did not have any Billfish come in the spread on Sunday. The Dolphin bite never really heated up.. The guys were alot of fun.
6-14-08 Great trip. 1 Sailfish, 7 good dolphin, 1 cobia, 1 bonita, 1 King Mackeral, and 2 Wahoo! One wahoo pushed 30 to 40#s and the bigger wahoo weighed in at the marina scale at #80 pounds. NEW boat record! Lets break it....

6- 17-08 Caught around 5 dolphin, 2 kings, good many vermillion snapper, a couple good AJ's... Had one sailfish within 10 yards before the line broke..... The sailfish were out there today. We had a good many sailfish strikes. Could not get the hook ups..
6-21-08 We fished between 140' and 200' and there were fish scattered throughout. We ended up with around 6 dolphin, 7 kingfish and 2 aj's. We also missed a sail and caught a few cudas.
7-12-08 Fished a bit south, We had another great group of guys.- Caught 5 AJ's, 7 Dolphin, 2 Kings, a Wahoo and few bonitas and a cuda. Had a good day. Did not have any real action with the billfish today... Mabey next time. GOOD TRIP!
